Visiting Huntsville: Places to stay | Places to eat | Things to do
Brimstone Recreation, LLC, provides recreational opportunities on 25,000 acres of property just outside of town. Headquartered on the edge of the Courthouse Mall in downtown Huntsville, Brimstone Rec was founded in 2006 by a group of Huntsville businessmen interested in seeing this wild and scenic section of the Cumberland Mountains preserved for the enjoyment of all.
Brimstone's main draw is ATV riding. Thousands of guests from outside the county and the state join local residents on hundreds of miles of trails within Brimstone Recreation's boundaries. Horseback riding, hiking, camping and a wide range of other activities are also available.
Brimstone also hosts two festivals each year. White Knuckle Event (Memorial Day weekend) and the Yamaha SXS festival (Labor Day weekend) draw thousands of festival goers to the mountain for concerts featuring some of country music's biggest stars, mud bogs, poker runs and more.
